  • LOGOS General Requirements: To be considered for the LOGOS program, a business must offer at least one primary motorist service. Currently, the LOGOS program accommodates services for gas, food, lodging, camping, and attractions. All participants must agree to abide by all rules, regulations, policies, procedures and criteria associated with the program, including the bumping policy in 24VAC30-551-60

  • Which Category of TOD Signage do you fall under?

  • General Requirements – Located 15 miles of intersection on non-controlled access highway or secondary highway system. Have on premise sign viewable from highway. Open for continuous operation at least 6 hours a day, 5 days a week during normal season for type of business. Be open for minimum required hours and days during at least 12 consecutive week each year. Be licensed and approved by the state and/or local agency regulating the particular type of business. Have restroom facilities for public use. * Camping locations must be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a closing option of up to 120 consecutive days from November 1st to April 1st. Must also have 10 or more camping units with adequate parking for each unit. *For Arlington and Henrico counties per the Code of Virginia: Cities and towns with a population of 5,000 or more are ineligible for TOD Signage.

  • General Requirements – Located within 3 miles of Non-controlled access highway or secondary system highway where TODS would be located. Be open for minimum required hours and days during at least 12 consecutive week each year. Be licensed and approved by the state and/or local agency regulating the particular type of business. Have restroom facilities for public use. Shall meet remaining LOGO program Category II criteria for their respective type of facility (below). Agree to be bumped in accordance with the bumping policy for a Category II facility. (More information is available upon request)

  • Which Category of GMSS Signage do you fall under?

  • GMSS General Requirements: A General Motorist Service Sign may be installed along state maintained roadways for gas, food, lodging, camping, and hospital locations that fulfill the needs of the road user and satisfy a certain criteria (below) for each type of motorist service. General motorist services signs will not be installed and may be removed at an interchange or intersection if there is adequate space for the installation of either LOGO or TOD signs.

  • Which Category of SGS Signage do you fall under?

  • SGS General requirements: All eligible applicants must agree to abide by all rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and criteria associated with the program. In regards to any cases of dispute or other disagreements with the rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and criteria associated with the program, the eligible applicant understands the decision of the State Traffic Engineer shall be final and binding.

    Note: Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries Briding and Wildlife Trails, Virginia Waterway, and State Scenic Rivers may be exempt from the criteria below.

  • Civil War Trails Signage

  • Civil War Trails program signs may be installed on interstate, primary and secondary facilities and may be installed as stand-alone structures or attached to existing sign structures. This program is exempt from the Integrated Directional Signage Program Participation criteria laid out by the Virginia Administrative Code. There are no annual fees for this program, but all costs associated with this program, including costs for the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and replacement of these signs, shall be the responsibility of the requesting entity.
